My name is Caz, I’m 22 and I was a student at Allsteps from when it was first created, all the way up to when I sat my A-Levels. I was trained and examined in Ballet, Tap, and Modern during that time. In 2015, I moved to Cardiff to pursue a 4-year degree in Psychology, which I have recently graduated from, with an aim to continuing with further postgraduate education to become qualified as a Doctor of Clinical and Forensic Psychology.
Despite my passion for this subject, soon after I moved away for university I realised that something was missing and that there was a big gap left for my love of performing. I found a studio to continue taking dance lessons, I began getting singing lessons and I started auditioning for local theatre. Four and a half years later, I am still madly in love with performing and have been cast in an array of wonderful roles, including Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Morticia Addams in The Addams Family and Velma Kelly in Chicago.
Alongside performing in musicals, during my time off before pursuing further study, I run musical theatre workshops for primary and secondary school children. I teach singing, dancing and acting, and try to encourage a love for the arts, as I know that in my childhood, that is the one defining thing that has shaped me as a person, and the direction that my life has gone. On the weekends I also perform at children’s parties, singing and dancing as their favourite princesses!
My time at Allsteps not only inspired such a special passion for performance, but also taught me valuable skills such as discipline and perseverance in an incredibly professional, but kind, environment.
