My full name is Rebecca Haw and I am a former student of Allsteps Dance Academy. I started Classical Ballet at the age of just two with the Elizabeth Corney School of Dance; I was able to skip pretty early, so that granted me entry.
It was at age eleven that my then Ballet teacher, Lisa Rafferty, sent me to audition for The Royal Ballet Mid-Associate Program, which I attended for two years until I was awarded a place at Elmhurst School for Dance in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet. I studied there for three years and then moved to Kate Simmons Dance to develop my Cecchetti style and for a more intensive, private training experience.
Upon graduating with a Level 3 Diploma in Professional Dance, I was given a job with the Opera Nationala de Bucuresti or the Romanian National Ballet from the then director Alin Gheorghiu. After my first full season our new director, Johan Kobborg, promoted me from Corps de Ballet to First Artist. In January 2017 I joined the SemperOper Ballet as a Guest Corps de Ballet member for Swan Lake and was offered a full contract for the following season and where I continue to dance.
That's my career path so far. To find out more about me and the daily life of a professional ballerina, please visit the links below:
