As I reflect at the end of our second week of term, I have so enjoyed being back teaching!
It has been really lovely to see all our Students genuinely excited to be dancing together again and wonderful to welcome new members to the Allsteps family too.
I am hugely proud of all our Students and thankful to Parents for following our new Covid-19 procedures, ensuring we can all return to dance safely. We will, of course, continue to monitor the latest Government Guidelines and notify you as soon as possible if any changes to our own procedures are required. Some of you have asked me how the new 'Rule of 6' will affect our dance classes? To reassure you, the short answer is that it will not, as dance schools/studios are currently exempt.
Our own Covid-19 procedures (see Downloads - Covid-19 Business Preparedness Document) have been compiled using the risk assessments provided by Severnbanks School and Aylburton Memorial Hall, to ensure we comply with both venues' and our own stringent requirements, enabling us to run classes safely for Students, Parents/Carers and myself. Please find attached a useful link to the Royal Academy of Dance which outlines the Rule of 6 in relation to dance classes - https://www.royalacademyofdance.org/the-rule-of-6-and-dance-classes/.
I have also attached the latest Government information on face coverings - at present dance classes are exempt. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own#when-to-wear-a-face-covering.
Best wishes
Miss Rafferty
