Dear Parents and Dancers
Just a little message to you and your families, to say thank you for joining us this past term. I have loved every minute and it has been wonderful to see how enthusiastic and engaged all the students have been.
Next term, the youngest students will be exploring The Nutcracker theme, which is one of my absolute favourites! It is a ballet that captures the spirit and excitement of Christmas perfectly, with the magical story it tells and the wonderful music.
Many of the senior students have just bought their very first pair of pointe shoes, so they will be learning the art of pointe work. I always find teaching pointe really rewarding, as I know how much hard work, skill and dedication it takes to get to this level. It is also what many of them have been looking forward to (until they have worn them for 10 minutes!).
This next term is going to be busy and full of exciting new things to learn.
As always, we will keep up to date with the latest guidance from the Government and will, of course, let you know as soon as possible if any changes are required to our current Covid-19 Guidelines.
Just a reminder, it is World Ballet Day tomorrow - Ballet companies from around the world will be posting live classes, rehearsals and much more. Take a look at this link for more information: https://www.roh.org.uk/news/details-of-the-royal-ballets-itinerary-for-world-ballet-day-2020-announced
I hope you’re all keeping safe and well and I look forward to seeing you after half-term - classes resume on Wednesday, 4th November 2020.
Best wishes
Miss Rafferty
