Over the summer I travelled to Roehampton University in London to do a Silver Swan course and I am now an official Licensee holder. The Royal Academy of Dance developed this program based on research into dance practice for older learners -classes are only taught by licensed teachers.
So, what does this mean? I am specifically trained to teach ballet to adults and over 55's but all ages are welcome. Fun and accessible, these classes will help improve your mobility, posture, coordination and energy levels, no matter how old you are.
Dance is a great workout for the mind and body and no prior experience is needed. All classes will start with a warm up; I will then guide you through ballet exercises, teaching you the vocabulary and technique. To finish, we will focus on a dance variation using beautiful and inspiring music.
I hope to instil a love of dance, whilst improving your fitness and having fun. It's a great way to make new friends, gain new skills and perhaps be the next Darcey Bussell or Carlos Acosta!
Please wear clothes that you feel comfortable in, leotards are definitely optional!
The classes will be held at Severnbanks School in Lydney on Thursdays, 7.30 pm - 8.30 pm.
I look forward to welcoming you into our classes.
